Hey, Buddy, Can You Spare An ESPNer A Quarter?
This image was lost some time after publication. Now, we're just asking here, tossing something in the wind, see if it sticks, if you don't mind a little metaphor mixing ... but anybody else out there hear about a serious payroll snafu that has left a good percentage of ESPN's New York City employees without their direct deposits and without any, you know, money for their labors this week? We've heard this from a few places.
We mean, we knew there would be some difficulty in the transition from Mark Shapiro to the new regime, but we didn't think the trains would fail to run on time so quickly. Anyway, just in case, ESPNers ...
We have your back here, always.
(Update: It turns out that the affected ESPN employees "won't get paid until Tuesday," because of an "accounting snafu." Hope those guys had some backup cash lying around for a rainy day.)
