High-scoring Texas A&M races to win over Prairie View A&M

Mandatory Credit: Maria Lysaker-Imagn Images Rashaun Agee scored 19 points and Marcus Hill added 16 to lead Texas A&M to a 111-82 nonconference win over Prairie View A&M on Monday in College Station, Texas.
The Aggies (10-3) went on an 8-0 run to start the second half, putting away the Panthers (5-8) with a 68-39 lead.
Texas A&M hit 54.3% of its shots from the floor (38 of 70) and collected 12 steals. The Aggies forced 15 turnovers while topping 100 points for the third game in a row.
Tai'Reon Joseph scored 26 points and collected five rebounds for Prairie View A&M, while Cory Wells had 25 points and nine rebounds.
The Aggies were able to open up a 30-point lead early in the second half when Federiko Federiko scored on a layup and soon hit a free throw for an 80-50 advantage.
Texas A&M jumped out to a 27-8 start when Ruben Dominguez completed a three-point play with 12:47 left in the first half.
That was the third of seven consecutive shots made by the Aggies, including a pair of 3-pointers by Pop Isaacs, the second making it 39-12 with 9:38 left.
The Panthers were able to cut the gap to 20 with 7:35 left when Wells hit a 12-foot jumper, but Zach Clemence nailed a 3-pointer and Marcus Hill scored on a layup to make it 46-23 with 6:49 left in the half.
The Panthers scored four straight with layups by Jannoy Thomas and Joseph in the final two minutes, but the Aggies were still completely in control at half with a 60-39 lead.
The Aggies shot 67.6% from the floor (23 of 34) before the break, including 54.5% from the 3-point arc (6 of 11).
Texas A&M outrebounded the Panthers 26-14 prior to halftime.
Agee led the Aggies with 15 first-half points, hitting six of his 10 shots, and six rebounds.
Hill had 10 points prior to intermission, hitting all four of the shots he took, while Joseph had 14 points for Prairie View A&M.
