How Do You Get People To Not Hate You?: Your NFL Late Games Open Thread
Your 4:00 p.m. games start now. Get into it with each other down below.
Chicago at Oakland (FOX): Jay Cutler is out and Caleb Hanie is in. "An offense that's averaged 32.2 points over Chicago's current surge will now rest in the hands of Hanie, who's never started an NFL game and has attempted only 14 passes in the regular season, for the time being. The undrafted 26- year-old did see extensive action after relieving an injured Cutler in last January's NFC Championship Game, completing 13-of-20 throws for 153 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in the Bears' loss to rival Green Bay." So there's that, Chicago. [ USA Today]
Washington at Seattle (FOX): Redskins One-Liners Part Two: "'We were off to a 3-1 start, and now we're 3-7, and I had pneumonia and this whole thing just stinks,' Grossman said this week." [ Seattle Times]
Denver at San Diego (CBS): Is there a better match up of polarizing quarterbacks? Probably. But hey, people on the west coast are entitled to a little "football" too. "When he was coaching the Broncos last season, Josh McDaniels called the Chargers the 'measuring stick' in the AFC West. But the Super Bowl window of opportunity appears to have closed in San Diego, where the home team no longer resembles a division title contender. The Chargers committed three turnovers in the final 21 minutes of their 31-20 loss to the Bears last Sunday. The Broncos, meanwhile, can climb above .500 for the first time since Dec. 27, 2009, when a loss to the Eagles left them 8-7. Denver finished that season 8-8." [ Denver Post]
New England at Philadelphia (CBS): "This is New England's first regular season meeting with the Eagles since coming from behind and beating Philadelphia, 31-28, nearly four years ago to the day at Gillette Stadium. That win in Foxboro on Nov. 25 improved the Patriots to 11-0 in their 16-0 regular season of 2007." Since then, the Eagles have greatly improved their team by adding Mike Vick, Jeremy Maclin and Nnamdi Asomugha. Should be a good a game. [ WEEI]
