Huge first half sends No. 22 Notre Dame past Arkansas 56-13

CJ Carr completed 22 of 30 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns, and No. 22 Notre Dame cruised to a 56-13 win over Arkansas on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, Ark.

Jeremiyah Love scored two touchdowns on the ground and two more touchdowns through the air for Notre Dame (2-2), which won its second straight game. Jadarian Price added 13 carries for a team-high 86 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Taylen Green completed 17 of 32 passes for 207 yards and an interception for Arkansas (2-3). Green also rushed 10 times for a team-high 81 yards.

Notre Dame outgained Arkansas in yards 641-365.

The Fighting Irish scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and four more touchdowns in the second quarter to grab a 42-13 lead at the half.

After an early Arkansas field goal, Love scored the game's first touchdown on a 1-yard run with 8:16 left in the first quarter. Love struck again with a 7-yard touchdown reception about four minutes later.


JacQawn McRoy scored the Razorbacks' first touchdown in the opening minute of the second quarter. That cut the deficit to 14-10.

Carr pushed the lead to 28-10 with back-to-back drives that ended with touchdown passes. He hit Will Pauling for a 23-yard score and Love for a 34-yard touchdown.

Arkansas made another field goal before Notre Dame scored two more touchdowns in the final minute of the half. Love scored on a 3-yard rush, and Price caught a 35-yard touchdown.

Price and Aneyas Williams added one touchdown apiece in the second half.

The game included a scary moment as Arkansas wideout Jalen Brown was carted off the field after sustaining a serious leg injury in the third quarter.

Brown was injured while trying to make a touchdown catch. His leg bent awkwardly after he got it caught on a Notre Dame defender.

Teammates surrounded Brown as the Arkansas medical staff attended to him on the field. After he was carted off, he was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for X-rays.
