I Want To Kiss This Hockey Player's Performance Of "Free Fallin'" On The Mouth
My knowledge of Ryan Hollweg’s career as a hockey player admittedly ends at his Wikipedia page. But because of this video, he’s now one of my all-time favorite athletes.
Hollweg currently plays for HC Plzen in the Czech Extraliga, and after a recent game he decided it would be rad to treat the home fans to a little rock n’ roll. He was right. It was rad as hell.
In the video above you will find Hollweg going all the way in on Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’.” If you’re familiar with this classic American tune, you’ll notice that the version Hollweg plays on his guitar is, uh, a little off. It’s evident that Hollweg doesn’t really know how to play this song, but he doesn’t let that stop him. Not only does he just vocalize some of the chords when he gets tripped up at the beginning of the song, he proceeds to belt out every line like a karaoke god.
But the best part comes at the end of the song, when Hollweg attempts to play out the last few chords, fails, and then makes this face:
You know why he made that face? Because he fucking nailed it. This is the best sports highlight of the year.
