Iga Swiatek wins first title of season, beats Elena Rybakina in Toronto

Mandatory Credit: Dan Hamilton-Imagn Images Seventh-seeded Iga Swiatek picked up her first tournament title of the season with a solid 6-2, 6-3 victory over second-seeded Elena Rybakina on Thursday in the National Bank Open at Toronto.
Swiatek needed just 75 minutes and had a first-serve percentage of 80% while slaying Rybakina for the seventh time in 13 career meetings.
Swiatek of Poland converged 4 of 5 break points and controlled most of the match while winning her 26th career title.
Rybakina of Kazakhstan had one ace and four double faults.
Swiatek jumped out fast by winning the first two games of the match. She later won three straight to finish off the set.
Rybakina led 2-1 in the second set before Swiatek won five of the final six games to end the match and win in Canada for the first time.
