Iowa Fan Arrested For Public Intoxication Thought She Was At Iowa State Game That Didn't Exist
Photo Credit: Charlie Neibergall/ [object Object] Unranked Iowa’s upset win over #3 Michigan yesterday was worth celebrating. But some people took it a little too far, and University of Iowa police had to make game-day arrests for the first time since September. (The campus that gave us Vodka Samm has had plenty of game-day citations since September, just no arrests.)
Of the six public intoxication arrests, one stands out. From the University of Iowa police report, emphasis mine:
Michelle Keys, 35, of Ankeny, IA was arrested at Kinnick Stadium at 1918 hours for Public Intoxication. She had slurred speech, spoke in incoherent sentences, and believed she was in Ames, IA at the Iowa State v. Arizona football game. She had a .225 BAC.
Iowa State was not in Ames, IA, yesterday. They were in Lawrence, KS, playing Kansas. Also potentially of interest is the fact that there has not been an Iowa State v. Arizona football game since 1968.
