The nature of the injury was unclear. The substitution came during the first-half hydration break, with Ali Al-Hamadi entering the match for the veteran striker as Iraq trailed 1-0 through Kylian Mbappe's third goal of the tournament.
Hussein scored Iraq's lone goal during their 4-1 defeat to Norway in Foxborough, Mass., in their group opener last Tuesday. The 30-year-old had eight goals in 15 appearances (13 starts) during Iraq's qualifying campaign.
