Jack Eichel Leaves Practice With Nasty-Looking Injury
Gene J. Puskar/ [object Object] The NHL season starts tonight, and it looks like Buffalo will enter it without their franchise player. Jack Eichel suffered an injury to what looked like his left knee or ankle in this morning’s practice and had to be helped off. [Update: Sabres coach Dan Bylsma confirmed it was the ankle.]
Here’s some video, from News 4 Buffalo’s Tom Martin:
The 19-year-old center, who scored 56 points last season, appeared to be in a lot of pain.
Bylsma had no details on Eichel’s injury yet. But this season looks like it’s going to start without Eichel, without Carey Price, without Patrice Bergeron, without Jonathan Huberdeau, without Matt Murray—but maybe with Sidney Crosby.
