Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) is ranked 14th overall by the World Boxing Association on the heels of his win Saturday over former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. "The Problem Child" is now eligible to challenge WBA cruiserweight champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez.
Paul, 28, outlasted Chavez (54-7-1) in a 10-round bout to earn a unanimous decision in Anaheim, Calif.
Although Paul praised Chavez after the fight, the social media influencer-turned-boxer tossed his proverbial hat in the ring for a potential title shot.
"I want tougher fighters," Paul said after winning 99-91, 97-93 and 98-92 on the judges' scorecards. "I want to be world champion."
Paul has won six bouts in a row following his lone loss, a split decision to Tommy Fury in February 2023.
Ramirez defeated Yuniel Dorticos via decision on Saturday to successfully defend his WBA and WBO titles in the co-main event.
