Jays put RHP Jameson Taillon (forearm) on 15-day IL

After just two starts with the Toronto Blue Jays following a trade deadline deal, veteran right-hander Jameson Taillon was placed on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis on Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, Toronto recalled right-hander Chase Lee from Triple-A Buffalo.

Taillon, 34, exited Monday's home start against the Boston Red Sox with a forearm issue after four scoreless innings. Toronto acquired the 10-year veteran on Aug. 2 from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named.

This is his second time on the IL this season, having missed roughly six weeks in June and July with a left hamstring strain.

Taillon, a pending free agent following a four-year, $68 million deal he signed with the Cubs in 2023, is 2-6 with a 5.68 ERA over 17 starts with the Cubs and Blue Jays this season. In 84 innings, he has struck out 75 and walked 32 with a 1.369 WHIP.

In his 10th season, the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates is 84-66 with one save, a 3.99 ERA, 1,148 strikeouts, 326 walks and 1.204 WHIP in 241 games (240 starts) with the Pirates (2016-19), New York Yankees (2021-22), Cubs (2023-26) and Blue Jays.

Lee, 28 on Thursday, is 4-1 with a 4.22 ERA in 37 relief appearances over the last two seasons with the Detroit Tigers (2025) -- who traded him in December -- and the Blue Jays, including five outings this season. Over 42 2/3 career innings, he has 38 strikeouts, 14 walks and a 1.148 WHIP.
