Jordan Binnington, Blues hold off Flames

Dylan Holloway, Matthew Kessel and Nathan Walker scored for the Blues, who have a three-game point streak at 2-0-1. Oskar Sundqvist earned two assists.
Matt Coronato and Rasmus Andersson scored for the Flames, who suffered their third straight loss. Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf made 28 saves in defeat.
The Blues outshot the Flames 14-10 while taking a 2-0 lead in the first period.
St. Louis scored during its first power play of the game. Justin Faulk took a pass from Pius Suter at the blue line, then skated to his right and fired a shot that Holloway deflected it past Wolf and just under the crossbar.
St. Louis doubled its lead with 6:17 left in the first. Kessel broke up the right wing, took a lead pass from Sundqvist and fired a shot through Wolf's blocker side.
The Flames tested Binnington early in the second. He made a left pad save on a deflected shot early in the second period, then he stopped Jonathan Huberdeau's short-handed breakaway.
The Blues pushed their lead to 3-0 at the 7:20 mark of the period. Wolf stopped Alexey Toropchenko's rush up the middle, but Walker swiped the rebound into the net.
Robert Thomas nearly made it 4-0, but his one-time shot from the left circle hit the knob of Wolf's stick before hitting the cross bar.
Coronato took an outlet pass from Brayden Pachal and beat Binnington with a blast off right wing to put Calgary on the board with 5:56 left in the period.
Just 25 seconds later, Andersson cut the Calgary deficit to 3-2 with a shot under the crossbar from the right point.
The Flames outshot the Blues 16-7 in the third period, but Binnington managed to preserve the one-goal lead on the night he surpassed Mike Liut for the most games played by a Blues goaltender.
