Mandatory Credit: Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports Moments after entering as a substitute, 16-year-old Julian Hall scored his first career MLS goal, heading in a corner in the 88th minute lift the New York Red Bulls to a 2-2 draw with host CF Montreal on Wednesday.
Wikelman Caromona scored in the 61st minute for New York, which erased a 2-0 halftime deficit.
The Red Bulls (8-4-7, 31 points) played to a draw for the second straight match and are 0-1-2 in their past three.
Montreal (4-7-7, 19 points) extended its unbeaten streak to five games (1-0-4) but has just one win in its past 11 MLS matches.
Sunusi Ibrahim capitalized on a set piece to score his team-leading sixth goal and put Montreal ahead 1-0 in the 11th minute. Fernando Alvarez headed the ball toward the net, and Ibrahim headed it in from for his fourth goal in his past four matches.
Kwadwo Opoku doubled Montreal's lead in the 40th minute. The Ghanian collected a long pass from Raheem Edwards and escaped Red Bulls defender John Tolkin inside the box before firing a left-foot strike into the back of the net to make it 2-0.
An impressive defensive effort from Ibrahim denied the Red Bulls a goal off a corner in the 59th minute. Sirois came off his line to the top of the 6-yard box to battle for the ball, and Sean Nealis got his head on it first to send it toward the net, but Ibrahim's bicycle kick on the goal line cleared it.
New York finally connected a few minutes later.
In the 61st minute, Sirois came off his line to stop an onrushing Elias Manoel, but he couldn't hold the ball or get back in time to stop the rebound attempt from Caromona. The resulting goal cut the deficit to 2-1.
Cameron Harper nearly pulled the visitors level in the 63rd minute, but his shot from the area rolled just wide of the left post. He narrowly missed another quality opportunity from the top of the box in the 85th minute when his shot grazed over the crossbar.
