Kyle Schwarber Carted Off The Field With Leg Injury After Crashing Into Dexter Fowler

Kyle Schwarber and Dexter Fowler collided with each other while chasing a popup that Arizona’s Jean Segura sent into left center in the second inning. Fowler tried to go low, but Schwarber didn’t get out of the way quickly enough and his left leg looks like it got mashed up pretty bad during the collision.
Schwarber was unable to get up under his own power, and was eventually driven off the field on a cart. Segura just kept on running and was credited with an inside-the-park home run. The Cubs have yet to reveal if Schwarber was injured and to what extent. We’ll update this post when more information becomes available.
Update (11:20 p.m.): Looks like it’s Schwarber’s ankle.
