The 31-year-old is under contract through the 2026 season with an option through December 2027.
Taylor was waived last month by Austin FC after contributing two assists in two games this season. He joins a squad that sits in ninth place in the Western Conference and owns 22 goals in 15 matches, which ranks Los Angeles 20th in goals per game among MLS' 30 teams.
"We are excited to welcome Robert to the Galaxy family," Galaxy general manager Will Kuntz said. "He brings versatility and a wealth of experience in MLS and will be a great addition to our locker room."
Taylor had 18 goals and 18 assists in 116 appearances with Inter Miami (2022-25) and added one goal and one assist in 24 games with Austin (2025-26). He helped the Herons win the Leagues Cup in 2023 and the Supporters' Shield in 2024.
