Leafs pull away in feisty matchup with Canucks

Matthew Knies, William Nylander, Nicholas Robertson and David Kampf also scored for the Maple Leafs. Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi and Bobby McMann each added two assists.
Nylander's points streak reached 15 games, extending his team record to open a season.
Ilya Samsonov made 31 saves for the Maple Leafs.
J.T. Miller and Pius Suter scored for the Canucks, who had won their five previous games.
Thatcher Demko stopped 17 shots for the Canucks.
Miller scored his ninth goal of the season at 5:31 of the first period on a 39-foot shot during a power play. Toronto's Mark Giordano had received an instigator penalty leading to his fight with Dakota Joshua.
Knies scored his fourth goal of the season, jamming in a rebound during a scramble in front of the net at 8:37 of the first. The goal came just after a Vancouver penalty had expired.
Suter scored his fourth of the season at 15:48 of the first on a rebound during a power play. Domi had been given an instigator penalty before a fight with Ian Cole.
Vancouver led 12-4 in shots on goal after one period.
Nylander tied the game at 4:54 of the second with his 10th goal of the season, a sliding shot into the crease that went in off a Vancouver player.
Gregor scored his second goal of the season on a wrist shot from the left circle at 14:22 of the second to put Toronto ahead.
Vancouver had a 23-17 edge in shots on goal after two periods.
Robertson added an insurance goal, his second of the season on a backhand at 4:56 of the third.
Kampf closed the scoring with his first of the season at 9:13 of the third on a deflection.
