Liquid, OG advance at Dota's Elite League Season 2

Jordan Woodruff OG and Team Liquid completed perfect runs through the initial stage of the Elite League Season 2 in Lima, Peru, on Friday, advancing to the second group stage.
OG rallied past HEROIC 2-1, while Team Liquid downed Shopify Rebellion 2-0.
After HEROIC opened with a 42-minute win on red, OG captured the next two maps, both on green, in 16 and 34 minutes. Bolivia's Adrian "Wisper" Dobles topped OG with an average kill-death-assist ratio of 8.7/3.0/12.7.
Liquid put away Shopify Rebellion in 32 minutes on red and 41 minutes on green. Sweden's Michael "miCKe" Vu led Liquid with a 9.0/2.5/8.0 K-D-A ratio.
The losers of those matches get another chance to advance on Saturday.
The initial group stage of the $800,000 Dota 2 event uses the Swiss system for all 16 teams, with best-of-three matches. The top eight teams advance to the second group stage, with the remaining teams eliminated.
The second phase, which runs Sunday through Wednesday, will have the remaining eight teams play a round robin of best-of-two matches. The top four teams move into the playoffs' upper bracket, while the lower four teams head to the playoffs' lower bracket.
The double-elimination playoffs run Aug. 2-4, with all matches best-of-three until the best-of-five final. The winning side will receive $240,000, and the runner-up will get $120,000.
In Friday matches involving teams that began the day 1-1, Cuyes Esports swept BOOM Esports 2-0, Yellow Submarine came from behind to beat MOUZ 2-1, beastcoast dumped nouns 2-0 and 1win defeated Execration 2-0.
In elimination matches featuring teams that started the day 0-2, Evil Rabbit overtook Fusion 2-1, and Apex Genesis topped Infinity 2-0.
