Love-For-Wiggins Trade Official; T-Wolves Announces Haul In Ad
The Cavaliers and Timberwolves agreed in principle to this deal weeks ago, but it could not become official until today, when Andrew Wiggins became eligible to be traded. NBA rookies can't be traded for 30 days after they sign a contract. Now, officially, Minnesota sends Love to the Cavaliers in exchange for Wiggins, Anthony Bennett, and a 2015 first round pick the Cavs got from Miami.
While they waited, Minnesota wanted to secure another piece to replace Kevin Love, so they tried to land Philadelphia power forward Thaddeus Young. On Thursday, that deal with Philly was finalized. On Saturday, in lieu of a press release, the Timberwolves ran this ad in local papers, including the Pioneer Press:
The ad also includes Zach Lavine, the team's first round pick this year.
