Mandatory Credit: Daniel Bartel-USA TODAY Sports Olympian Mallory Swanson's goal in the first minute of first-half stoppage time lifted the host Chicago Red Stars over the Houston Dash 1-0 on Saturday in Bridgeview, Ill.
The Red Stars (7-7-2, 23 points) took the lead when Leilanni Nesbeth fed Swanson, who beat Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell with a left-footed shot to the top left corner from outside the box.
With goals in four straight games, Swanson -- who will play for the U.S. Women's National Team in the Paris Olympics -- tied the longest streak in NWSL this season and the longest single-season streak in Red Stars history.
Campbell made three saves for the Dash (3-8-5, 14 points), while counterpart Alyssa Naeher stopped six shots on goal to record the clean sheet.
The Dash controlled 64 percent of the possession percentage and had 15 shots on goal to the Red Stars' six but couldn't even the score.
The Red Stars halted a 1-3-1 stretch and kept the Dash winless in their last five matches (0-3-2). Houston's last win came on May 28.
