Maple Leafs' Swedish Goalie Prospect Is A Terrible Rapper
Toronto signed Mark "In Da Park" Owuya, a 21-year-old goalie prospect from Sweden, to an entry-level contract on Thursday. Last season, Da Park had a 2.18 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage in goal for Djurgarden, of the Swedish Elite League.
Owuya is also known as the Swedish William Hung; in 2006 he auditioned for the country's "Idol" and was laughed off the stage. And because we don't just export terrible television to other countries but also the terrible qualities that come with it, the show's creators had him record "The S Song" "in [honor] of his speech impediment" (read: so that everyone could laugh at his lisp).
