Marlins acquire OF Rece Hinds in trade with Reds

Rebilas-Imagn Images The Miami Marlins acquired outfielder Rece Hinds from the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday in exchange for minor league right-hander Zach McCambley.
Hinds, who was designated for assignment by the Reds on Sunday, was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville.
He hit .121 with five RBIs in 12 games this season for Cincinnati. Hinds also batted .306 with a 1.058 OPS, seven home runs and 20 RBIs in 23 games this season at Triple-A Louisville.
Hinds, 25, was a second-round draft pick by the Reds in 2019 and made his major league debut in 2024. He holds a career average of .172 with seven home runs and 19 RBIs in 51 MLB games.
McCambley, 27, is 1-1 with a 2.36 ERA in 13 games (two starts) this season for Jacksonville. He is 18-23 with a 4.12 ERA in 147 games (42 starts) over six seasons in the minors since Miami made him a third-round pick in 2020.
