Mason Crosby signed as Giants' fourth kicker of season

The New York Giants signed veteran kicker Mason Crosby on Friday as the team placed Cade York on injured reserve with a quad injury.
York is the third kicker to be placed on IR by the Giants this season, joining Graham Gano (knee surgery) and Randy Bullock, who injured his hamstring in last week's loss to the New Orleans Saints.
In steps the 39-year-old Crosby. Green Bay's all-time leading scorer with 1,918 regular-season points since being drafted in 2007, Crosby was not re-signed by the Packers after last season. He spent Dec. 6-12 on the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad.
Crosby is 11th on the NFL's all-time scoring list and has made 395 career field goals.
He will be active for Monday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and Crosby's first field-goal attempt will mark the first time in franchise history in which the Giants have used four different kickers in a single season.
The Giants began the season with Gano, who missed 6 of 17 field-goal attempts as he dealt with the knee issue that eventually required surgery. Bullock took over for the next six games before suffering his hamstring injury on a kickoff following a 56-yard field goal against the Saints.
The Giants had planned to turn to York for the final three games of the season, but he left Thursday's practice with the quad injury.
