Maurkice Pouncey Expected To Be Charged With Battery
Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey is expected to be charged with battery as early as today stemming from his role in a nightclub brawl, according to the attorney of one of the victims who said he had been briefed by police.
Personal injury attorney Marwan Porter said police have indicated that Pouncey, a center for the Pittsburgh Steelers, will be charged with misdemeanor battery.
Dolphins lineman Mike Pouncey, who was with his twin brother at Cameo nightclub the morning of July 12, will apparently not be charged in the incident.
The incident took place at a birthday party for the twins, and the victims accused the Pounceys of inciting the fight in part due to one of the victims' sexual orientation.
Because Maurkice Pouncey would only be charged with a misdemeanor, police would wait until he returns to Florida to book him. But Pouncey could be forced back to the state if he is subpoenaed in a pending lawsuit.
Ricky Vasquez, one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, posted these videos on his Instagram page hours after the party:
