Holloway posted his first statement since losing by unanimous decision to Charles Oliveira in the headliner of UFC 326 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
"The highest of highs and the lowest of lows," Holloway wrote on social media on Tuesday. "Saturday night was not my night. Sorry to all my family, friends and fans that I have let down. Shout out to Oliveira for doing his thing. All class so nothing but love to him.
"No excuses from this side and there never will be. I've been here before I know the work I need to do to get back to where I wanna be. We are far from done. See you guys at the top. #blessedexpress"

On the line was the symbolic "BMF" title, which Holloway had successfully defended once since he won it from Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 in April 2024.
The Hawaiian was favored to defeat Oliveira 11 years after their first encounter in the octagon, when Oliveira could not continue due to a neck and esophagus injury in the first round.
Instead, Holloway picked up his second loss in three matches, having also suffered a knockout against Ilia Topuria back in October 2024 when challenging for the featherweight championship.
The defeat also derailed Holloway from potentially challenging for the UFC lightweight title. Holloway did not hint at whom he will fight next.
