Max Muncy's go-ahead homer pushes Dodgers past Phillies

Max Muncy hit a go-ahead home run in the sixth inning, Dalton Rushing and Tommy Edman each drove in three runs and the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers finished off a 9-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.

Rushing hit his own home run and left-hander Eric Lauer (5-5) gave up three runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings as the Dodgers won twice in the three-game series.

Freddie Freeman and Edman each had three hits for Los Angeles.

Alec Bohm and Bryan De La Cruz hit home runs for the Phillies, who lost their second consecutive home series after the break. Right-hander Aaron Nola (3-8) allowed five runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.

The Phillies took an early lead against Lauer when Kyle Schwarber hit a first-inning single and Bohm followed two batters later with a two-run home run to left field. It was Bohm's 13th of the season.

The Dodgers cut the deficit in half in the third inning when Rushing hit a solo home run to center, his 11th.

The Dodgers took a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning when Teoscar Hernandez and Edman singled with one out and Rushing followed with a two-run double to right field.

De La Cruz got the Phillies even with a home run in the bottom of the fifth. The drive to center came in De La Cruz's Phillies debut and in his first major league game since April 16 of last season for the Atlanta Braves.

Los Angeles regained the lead at 5-3 in the sixth when Freeman led off with a double and Muncy followed with a two-run home run, his 20th.

The Dodgers put the game away in the eighth when Kyle Tucker had a sacrifice fly for a 6-3 advantage and Edman cleared the bases on a triple for a 9-3 lead.

Bohm and J.T. Realmuto each had RBI singles over the final two innings for the Phillies.

Dodgers relievers Brock Stewart, Jack Dreyer, Will Klein and Edgardo Henriquez finished off the victory by recording the final 11 outs.
