Mets INF Ronny Mauricio (torn ACL) out 8-12 months

New York Mets infielder Ronny Mauricio is recovering from surgery to repair a torn right ACL.
Mauricio, 22, underwent the knee reconstruction Tuesday at New York's Hospital for Special Surgery and faces a recovery timeline of eight to 12 months.
He made his major league debut on Sept. 1 and hit .248 with two home runs, nine RBIs and seven stolen bases in 26 games for the Mets. He played mostly second base but also spent time at third base and briefly at shortstop.
Mauricio sustained the injury last month while playing winter ball in his native Dominican Republic.
He spent most of 2023 at Triple-A Syracuse, where he batted .292/.346/.506 with 23 homers, 71 RBIs and 24 steals in 116 games.
