Miami's lights-out shooting puts away Bethune-Cookman

Donaldson made 9 of 11 shots, including going 1 of 1 from distance, and he added four assists. Reneau made 9 of his 12 shots.
The Hurricanes, who never trailed and turned the ball over just six times, also got 13 points from Tru Washington and 12 from reserve Dante Allen. Center Ernest Udeh Jr. added eight points, a game-high 10 rebounds and a game-high four blocks.
Miami (2-0) is off to a perfect start under new coach Jai Lucas and a completely new 13-player roster.
Bethune-Cookman (0-2) started its season with a pair of tough tests, losing in overtime at Auburn on Monday before coming to Miami.
The Wildcats were led Thursday by Jakobi Heady, who had 19 points.
Early on, Miami dominated, taking a 7-0 lead as Bethune-Cookman missed its first four shots.
Bethune-Cookman got as close as a 9-8 deficit with 15:59 left in the half before Miami got rolling again. By halftime, the Hurricanes led 50-31.
Donaldson led all first-half scorers with 17 points. Miami also got 12 points from Reneau, and Washington had 10. As a team, the Hurricanes shot 73.1% from the floor, outscoring the Wildcats 28-6 in the paint.
Heady led Bethune-Cookman with 11 first-half points, but the Wildcats shot just 27.3% from the floor.
Bethune-Cookman showed some life midway through the second half, putting together a 10-0 run to cut its deficit to 65-45 with 14:47 left. But Miami made the game's next two buckets and cruised from there.
For the game, Miami outscored Bethune-Cookman 58-26 in the paint. Miami also shot 59.1% from the floor and 8 of 17 from deep (47.1%).
Bethune-Cookman shot 31.8% overall and 6 of 28 on 3-pointers (21.4%).
