Michigan reaches No. 1 for first time since 2013

The Wolverines (24-1) claimed 60 of 61 first-place votes on Monday to dethrone Arizona (23-2), whose nine-week Top 25 reign ended after back-to-back losses to Kansas and Texas Tech last week.
Michigan enters a challenging week with a 10-game winning streak, scheduled to visit No. 7 Purdue (21-4) on Tuesday before meeting No. 3 Duke (23-2) on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
No. 2 Houston (23-2) received the other first-place ballot. Arizona dropped to No. 4, followed by UConn (24-2), Iowa State (22-3), Purdue, Kansas (19-6), Nebraska (22-3) and Illinois (21-5).
No. 24 Wisconsin (18-7) and No. 25 Alabama (18-7) joined the poll, with Clemson and Kentucky dropping out.
