MLB Best Bets for Sunday August 10th: Top Baseball Betting Picks Today
Sundays will soon be all about another sport, but for now, they belong to baseball, with 15 games scheduled. You can bet on as many as you’d like, of course, but that’s a lot of baseball to research. We’ve done some of that for you with our Best MLB Bets list.
As always, it’s a good idea to shop lines to make sure you have the most advantageous odds for your wager. Now, let’s talk about some baseball (odds via FanDuel).
Athletics vs. Orioles
The young talent on the Athletics roster is playing well. The lineup has the second-highest batting average over the past week at .312. As for Baltimore, the Orioles have the lowest batting average in that span (.180). Baltimore scored 17 runs over its past six games, while the A’s scored 40.
With Oakland taking a bullpen approach regarding pitching, there is a chance the Orioles' lineup could break out. The A’s bullpen has one of the highest ERAs in the league at 5.17. However, with Baltimore starting left-hander Cade Povich (2-6, 5.25 ERA), the hot-hitting A’s could have a field day.
Our Pick: Orioles ML at -132
If the A’s had a better bullpen, this would be an easy win for them. Povich has a 6.81 ERA in eight home starts, with teams hitting .301 against him. It would be shocking if the A’s lineup didn’t blast off against him.

Blue Jays vs. Dodgers
After scoring 45 runs in three games vs. the Rockies, the Blue Jays have been held to just two runs in two games in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. With Tyler Glasnow set to start, it’s unlikely to get easier for them on Sunday.
Glasnow is 1-1 in 10 starts with a 3.06 ERA, but he is especially dangerous at home (1.97 ERA in six starts with teams hitting .152 against him). However, it isn’t going to be easy for the Dodgers to generate offense against Eric Lauer (7-2, 2.59 ERA, .205 OBA).
Our Pick: UNDER 9 at -130
Lauer has given up two runs or fewer in 18 appearances (12 starts). Glasnow had a 2.45 ERA across five starts in July, and in his one August start, he allowed three hits and one earned run over seven innings. With starters this good, neither team is likely to score much.

Cubs vs. Cardinals
Both teams have plenty of motivation to win: The Cubs need to keep up with or close the gap on the Brewers in the National League Central, and the Cardinals can break past the .500 mark with a win. The season series is tied 3-3, with each team winning one game this weekend.
Shota Imanaga has been lights out for the Cubs, posting a 3.12 ERA and an 8-4 record. His counterpart, Sonny Gray, has been good but inconsistent (10-5 in 23 starts, 4.21 ERA). He’s been better at home, posting a 3.52 ERA and going 7-2 in 14 starts.
Our Pick: Cubs ML at -126
Gray was lights out in his most recent start vs. the Dodgers, allowing one hit and one earned run over seven innings. However, he gave up 17 earned runs in his previous three outings. The Cubs’ lineup hasn’t been destroying the ball lately, but it is good enough to get ahead against Gray. With Imanaga starting, the Cardinals’ bats should be quiet Sunday.
