The Wednesday MLB card is loaded with action all day, offering plenty of player and team props to choose from. The game of the night takes place in the American League East, where the Toronto Blue Jays host the New York Yankees in a critical divisional matchup.
We’re breaking down three of our favorite plays for Wednesday’s action. As always, monitor the odds throughout the day, as the props and totals market is constantly on the move.
Here are the free MLB picks for Wednesday, July 2.
Astros/Rockies F5 Under 5.5 Runs (-110 at DraftKings)
The Houston Astros look to stay hot in Denver as they take on the lowly Colorado Rockies.
Right-hander Hunter Brown gets the start for Houston. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in the first five innings in six consecutive outings.
On the offensive side, the Astros have been held to two runs or fewer in the first five innings in four straight games against left-handed starters.
Colorado southpaw Austin Gomber counters, and he’s allowed one run or fewer in the first five innings in two of his last three starts—including a solid effort against the Dodgers his last time out.

Will Warren Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-105 at DraftKings)
The Yankees have dropped the first two games of a key four-game set in Toronto.
While Warren has been a machine for strikeout props this season—hitting the over in 13 of 16 starts—this matchup is a tough one.
Toronto owns the lowest strikeout rate in the league at just 17.7%. This will also be Warren’s first career start against the Blue Jays.
Notably, opposing starters have recorded four strikeouts or fewer in 15 straight games in Toronto. The trend makes this a good buy-low spot for the under.

Shota Imanaga Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-140 at FanDuel)
The Cubs took care of the Guardians in the opener of their interleague series at Wrigley Field.
Chicago sends lefty Shota Imanaga to the mound against a Cleveland team that has been striking out plenty lately.
Cleveland hitters have struck out at least five times against opposing starting pitchers in 11 of the past 13 games. Against left-handers specifically, 11 of the past 13 starters have gone over their strikeout total.
Imanaga has stayed under his strikeout total in seven of nine starts this season, but this is a favorable spot to back the over given the Guardians’ swing-and-miss tendencies.
