Mona shines as Pistons roll in NBA 2K League's Tipoff

Solomona "Mona" Faitaua-Nanai became the first rookie to log a triple-double in the NBA 2K League this season, leading Pistons GT to an 86-59 rout of Mavs Gaming on Wednesday in qualifying for The Tipoff event.

Mona scored 14 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished out 10 assists while shooting 7-for-9 on field-goal attempts.

Detroit also got 34 points and 15 assists from Anthony "ANT" Costanzo, and Alex "Bsmoove" Reese contributed 25 points.

Emmanuel "FantaSZN" Gosman paced the Mavs with 21 points.

The Tipoff is the first of three tournaments that lead up to the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs that run from June 26-29. The Tipoff runs through May 25, and it will be followed by The Turn (May 29-June 15) and The Ticket (June 18 and 22).

Elsewhere on Wednesday, the league's lone remaining undefeated teams powered to easy victories. T-Wolves Gaming thrashed Kings Guard Gaming 83-57, and Warriors Gaming Squad walloped Jazz Gaming 91-63, with the winners both moving to 4-0.

In other action, Raptors Uprising GC topped Cavs Legion GC 62-54, Lakers Gaming outscored Blazer5 Gaming 114-103, Hawks Talon GC edged Gen.G Tigers 79-78, Heat Check Gaming hammered Hornets Venom GT 103-80, Grizz Gaming dumped DUX Infinitos 75-60, Magic Gaming pushed past NetsGC 77-72, 76ers GC beat Celtics Crossover Gaming 73-64, Bucks Gaming bested Pacers Gaming 79-64, and Wizards District Gaming toppled NBL Oz Gaming 65-57.
