Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday rewarded head coach Donny Lind with a long-term extension after his year piloting the Mountaineers to the NCAA Tournament and a First Four win.

The deal locks in Lind as coach through the 2030-31 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Donny Lind's impact on the men's basketball program and the university as a whole cannot be understated," director of athletics Brad Davis said in a statement. "In his first year as a head coach, his leadership through selflessness and commitment to developing our players on and off the court is a reminder that culture and growth still matter in Division I basketball."

The Mountaineers finished the 2024-25 season 23-13, including a 12-8 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They defeated Iona in the conference tournament final to earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament, where Mount St. Mary's defeated American in a First Four game and lost to Duke in the first round.

Mount St. Mary's is Lind's first stint as a head coach in D-I.

"The Mount is a special place, and we have made a true commitment to our future success. I want to give a special thank you to our players and staff for their trust and buy-in to a vision of success that few thought was possible. Going forward, I'm excited to continue to build on the storied tradition of the Mount that our alumni, students, and fans can be proud of," Lind said.
