Nate Newton: Overachiever
We always loved Nate Newton. Frankly, it's impossible not to like the former Cowboys defensive lineman. This is a guy who, in November 2001, was busted for carting 213 pounds of marijuana. He met bond, and six months later, he was arrest for the same offense, this time with a mere 175 pounds. He spent 32 months in jail and resurfaced this weekend to talk on Dallas sports radio. Newton's rationale for his behavior? Like all athletes, he wanted to be the best. "I've always been competitive, I've always been in sports," he said. "I couldn't see myself not being the biggest dope man." Yep. And guess what he's doing now? If you said "preaching for Jesus," man, we made it way too easy for you.
