As noted in the story, Sarah Phillips directed Ben to talk to two people: the editor of her new site, Nilesh Prasad (also known as "Nick"), and a Navin Prasad. Both Prasads (Phillips said they were unrelated) claimed to work at ESPN.
Ben spoke with Nilesh on the phone and through text; he communicated with Navin solely through Facebook. The following is a portion of a Facebook conversation between Ben and Navin that spanned five days. The chat started soon after Ben realized he had been deleted as an administrator to his NBA Memes page.
In this conversation, Ben pleads with Navin to give him his NBA Memes page back, and he still holds out hope that he will still be able to write for the new Phillips-Prasad site. Ben told Deadspin that the time this exchange took place, he was still in regular contact with both Prasads, and that Nilesh seemed to be playing good cop to Navin's bad cop.
To set the scene: Ben had recently told someone at Facebook that he lost his page. Navin is not happy.
