Clowney, 21, is earning about $3.4 million in his third season and, per multiple reports, will get a $2 million raise for the 2026-27 season that's also guaranteed. He will be eligible for a rookie scale extension after the 2025-26 season and could be a restricted free agent in 2027 if he doesn't sign a new contract.
Brooklyn selected Clowney with the 21st overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft after his lone season as Alabama.
He set career highs with averages of 9.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 22.7 minutes in 46 games (20 starts) last season, as he dealt with various injuries including sprains to both ankles. He made 87 of 261 3-point attempts (33.3%).
Clowney has started 24 of 69 games over parts of two seasons and averaged 8.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 20.5 minutes.
