NFL Draft Order 2025 Heating Up: New York Giants Control Their Fate for No. 1 Pick

Next weekend, all four NFC division titles will be on the line, but the real sickos will be monitoring the 2025 NFL Draft order.

The New York Giants were destroyed by the Atlanta Falcons 34-7 on Sunday in Michael Penix Jr.'s debut at quarterback. The quest for the Giants to find their own quarterback of the future is officially on, as the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars and fell all the way to the No. 6 overall selection.

Up next, the Giants will host the Indianapolis Colts before their season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles. If they lose both of these games, they will be awarded the coveted No. 1 overall pick.

After jettisoning quarterback Daniel Jones from the organization a few weeks ago, there’s no denying that the Giants will be in the market for a quarterback. Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward are expected to headline this draft class at that position.

After the New York Giants, the New England Patriots are currently slated for the No. 2 overall pick based on strength of schedule, despite five total teams having a 3-11 record.

According to reports, Jerod Mayo will be retained as the head coach of the Patriots. With quarterback Drake Maye in place, the Patriots could definitely use that selection on the best player available to continue their rebuild.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to be on the clock with the third pick, followed by the Tennessee Titans, but things will get interesting as they play each other on Sunday in Week 17. This game is sure to shake up the draft order in the top five.

Tankathon has the Cleveland Browns in the No. 5 slot, and they could prove to be the beneficiary of that Jaguars vs. Titans matchup next week. 

While the Browns have several holes in the trenches, they could also be in the quarterback market to replace Deshaun Watson. Last offseason, the Denver Broncos “reached” for Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, valuing five seasons of a quarterback on a rookie deal while they ate the dead cap charge caused by their failed Russell Wilson experiment. The Browns could choose to follow that same blueprint, but at 3-11, they will need some help to get in the territory to select Sanders.

After the Raiders at No. 6 overall, the Carolina Panthers find themselves with the seventh selection after eliminating the Arizona Cardinals from playoff contention in overtime. The New York Jets, Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints are set to round out the top ten in that order.

Of course, this order will change throughout the last two weeks of the regular season. The Giants cannot afford to lose, while teams like the Browns will be praying for a miracle so they can continue to leapfrog quarterback-needy teams.
