NFL Week Eleven, Update #3
• This is not a score that I saw coming. The 49ers have ripped open a 20-0 lead over the Seahawks, despite the return of Shaun Alexander. Alexander's carried 7 times for 9 yards, and Seneca Wallace has thrown two interceptions. Frank Gore's making a pretty solid case these past two weeks for best running back in the league. He's carried 13 times for 130 yards.
• For what may be the first time in NFL history, a win against the Lions might be doing something to help a coach's job status. Dennis Green and the Cardinals lead the Lions 10-0 at the half, and Edgerrin James is performing like a real, life, NFL running back. He's carried 11 times for 58 yards, and Matt Leinart is 14-of-21 for 144 yards and a touchdown.
• Indy and Dallas played a played a mostly scoreless first half, but a wide open Reggie Wayne just brought in a TD pass to give the Colts a 7-0 lead. It probably should be 14-0 or 10-0, because Roy Williams shoved down a receiver and then caught the Peyton Manning pass that sailed over his head. I didn't think that was legal.
