NFL Week Five, Update #2
This image was lost some time after publication. • This game... it kinda sucked. Just one touchdown all day, and it's not like the defense was overwhelmingly great. The Washington Redskins that was supposed to be rounding into form is still not grasping all the pages of the 700-page playbook. They could muster only three points against the Giants today, and more importantly, couldn't even begin to think about stopping Tiki Barber. Dolemite Jenkins ran 19 times for 76 yards, and Eli Manning completed passes to seven different receivers, including a fellow named "Shiancoe." Giants win, 19-3.
• The Titans were unfortunately not able to hang on, and I feel much shame for letting myself believe that they could. It was a short touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne that eventually did them in, and... it's not like I'm can complain about Reggie Wayne scoring a touchdown when his brother just died. Congrats on beating that spread, though, Titans. Colts win, 14-13.
• The Patriots were able to ugly out a victory over the Dolphins, 20-10. Tom Brady only threw for 140 yards, and no Patriot rushed for more than 45... and they still won by double digits. This is the miracle of the Miami Dolphins. Joey Harrington finished with 26 completions of 41 attempts for 232 yards, and, you guessed it... 2 interceptions.
