No. 15 Oregon hands Washington 5th straight loss to ranked team

TJ Bamba scored a game-high 21 points and No. 15 Oregon pulled away late to defeat Washington 82-71 in a Big Ten Conference game Tuesday night in Eugene, Ore.

Brandon Angel added 15 points, Supreme Cook scored 13 and Keeshawn Barthelemy and Jackson Shelstad had 11 for the Ducks (16-3, 5-3 Big Ten), who rallied from an early eight-point deficit to win for just the second time in five conference home games.

Great Osobor led Washington (10-9, 1-7) with 20 points and eight rebounds. Zoom Diallo scored 18 and Tyler Harris added 15 for the Huskies, who suffered their fifth consecutive loss - all to ranked teams.

The Ducks used a late rally to take a 34-32 halftime lead after trailing for most of the first half.

Bamba's 3-pointer gave the Ducks a five-point lead early in the second half before Harris made back-to-back treys - one from each corner - to put the Huskies up 42-41 with 16:54 left.

Neither team led by more than three points from that point until Bamba made two free throws to break a tie and Angel scored on a bank shot off a UW turnover with 5:10 remaining to give the Ducks a 66-62 advantage.

A jumper from the top of the key by DJ Davis cut Washington's deficit to 73-68 with 1:37 left before the Ducks closed with a 9-3 run, with Shelstad scoring five points in the final 35 seconds.

The Ducks' leading scorer, 7-foot Nate Bittle, battled foul trouble and was limited to seven points, though he grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and added three assists and two blocked shots in 28 minutes.

Oregon shot 50.8 percent (31 of 61) while the Huskies were at 46.4 percent (26 of 56). The Ducks had a 37-24 rebounding edge and limited UW to 4-of-21 shooting from 3-point range.

In the first half, the Huskies used an early 10-0 run to take an eight-point lead. Oregon didn't regain the advantage until Barthelemy made a 3-pointer with 3:25 left, making it 26-25.

After getting fouled while attempting a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 39 seconds to go, Washington's Davis converted three free throws to tie it at 32-32. Bamba made a driving layup with 20 seconds remaining to give the Ducks the lead at intermission.
