No. 8 Gonzaga's second-half spurts sink No. 25 UCLA

Graham Ike scored 25 points and Braden Huff added 21 to lead No. 8 Gonzaga to an 82-72 victory over No. 25 UCLA on Saturday night in Seattle.

Mario Saint-Supery added 12 points as the Bulldogs (10-1) notched their third straight win. Gonzaga is 5-1 against the Bruins over the past six seasons.

Tyler Bilodeau scored 24 points for UCLA (7-3), which had a two-game winning streak halted. Donovan Dent added 12 points, 10 assists, three blocked shots and two steals and Xavier Booker had 12 points for the Bruins.

Gonzaga shot 50% from the field and made 6 of 16 from 3-point range. The Bulldogs held a 36-29 rebounding advantage and had 21 points off turnovers to UCLA's seven.

The Bruins connected on 49% of its shots, including 7 of 15 from behind the arc.

UCLA inched ahead at 54-53 on Dent's basket with 14:34 remaining.


The Bulldogs scored seven straight points a short time later. Braeden Smith hit a 3-pointer and Ike and Tyon Grant-Foster added baskets as Gonzaga led 66-60 with 9:01 remaining.

Booker's dunk and Dent's jumper brought UCLA back within two with 8:26 remaining, but the Bruins didn't score again for nearly 4 1/2 minutes. The Bulldogs rattled off eight straight with two free throws by Jalen Warley capping the run and giving Gonzaga a 74-64 lead with 4:21 left.

Skyy Clark drove for a layup with 4:01 left to halt the UCLA drought.

Huff made two free throws to give the Bulldogs a 76-67 advantage with 2:26 to go. Warley added a putback 35 seconds later to push the lead to 11 and Gonzaga closed it out.

Ike scored 15 points and Huff had 14 as Gonzaga held a 45-40 halftime lead. Bilodeau scored 16 in the half for UCLA.

The Bruins scored the first seven points of the game but the Bulldogs recovered to take a 17-16 edge on Adam Miller's trey with 10:51 left in the half.

Gonzaga later led 33-25 after a 3-pointer by Huff with 5:03 remaining en route to holding the five-point lead at the break.
