Once Again, Alex Rodriguez Didn't Mean That Thing He Said
Alex Rodriguez told Katie Couric he didn't use steroids. Then he told Peter Gammons that he did. He also told Gammons that Selena Roberts was stalking his family. Now... boy is his face red! (Ha!)
CNN's Howard Kurtz let slip on his fancy TV reporter show yesterday that Alex Rodriguez called Selena Roberts and apologized for the not very nice things he said about her during his "banned substance" mea culpa on ESPN. It did seem like an awkward time to call someone else a liar, when you're apologizing for being a liar yourself, but after some further thought, A-Rod apparently felt that giving more fuel to the fire of her book about him maybe wasn't such a good idea. Also on fire? His pants, so there was that to take care of too.
Neither Roberts nor Rodriguez have commented on this latest twist, but that just means that it's all behind us and the whole matter of who used steroids in baseball is finally settled once and for all! I'm so glad we took care of that.
