Florida Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen is considered week-to-week after sustaining burns during a barbecue accident, head coach Paul Maurice announced on Wednesday.

"I'm going to list him as week-to-week because we don't have a lot of experience with this, and some of this is when he comes back and feels comfortable with the equipment on," Maurice said of Luostarinen. "He wasn't in the hospital overnight. He did get seen by doctors in that vein."

No details were available on exactly how the burns occurred.

In on-ice injury concerns, Maurice also said forward Cole Schwindt is expected to be sidelined two-to-three months. Schwindt is waiting to have surgery on his broken arm after the swelling goes down.

Luostarinen, 27, has recorded 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 18 games this season.

He has totaled 139 points (53 goals, 86 assists) and a plus-23 rating in 392 career games with the Carolina Hurricanes and Panthers.

Schwindt sustained his injury after colliding with teammate Sergei Bobrovsky during Florida's wild 8-5 victory versus the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.

Schwindt, 24, has two goals in 10 games this season and 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 59 career contests with the Calgary Flames, Vegas Golden Knights and Panthers.
