Panthers RT Taylor Moton (blood clot), CB Jaycee Horn (foot) headed to NFI list

Panthers standout right tackle Taylor Moton is dealing with a blood clot in his lung and will miss the beginning of the 2026 season, Carolina announced Tuesday.

Moton was diagnosed with the blood clot in June and was placed on blood thinners. The team said he is responding well to treatment and is being assessed daily by the team's trainers.

The Panthers will place Moton on the reverse/non-football injury list when veterans report to training camp.

Moton, who turns 32 next month, started 15 of 16 games played last season. He was unable to play on the offensive line due to a knee injury in the Week 9 game against the Green Bay Packers but played three snaps on special teams.

Overall, Moton has started 128 of 145 games played for Carolina since entering the league as a second-round draft choice in 2017.

The Panthers will also place two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaycee Horn on the NFI list due to a foot injury that required stitches. He was injured while running and is expected to return early in training camp.

Horn, 26, had a career-best five interceptions last season to go with 37 tackles in 16 games. He has 10 interceptions and 190 tackles in 53 games (all starts) over five NFL seasons.

On Tuesday's rookie reporting date, cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau was placed on the NFI list. He is an undrafted free agent from Texas.
