PARIVISION, Aurora move into BLAST Open Spring semifinals

The higher-seeded teams rolled through the quarterfinals of the BLAST Open Spring as PARIVISION and Aurora Gaming prevailed on Friday at Rotterdam, Netherlands.

PARIVISION downed Team Falcons 2-0, setting up a semifinal matchup vs. Natus Vincere. Aurora Gaming downed The MongolZ 2-0 to earn a semifinal clash with Team Vitality.

The 16 teams in the $400,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event were split into two groups of eight that contested double-elimination brackets in Copenhagen, Denmark. The top three finishers in each bracket advanced to the six-team playoffs in Rotterdam.

All matches are best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final on Sunday.

The winning team will earn $150,000 along with three BLAST Frequent Flyer tokens.

On Friday, PARIVISION ousted Team Falcons 13-11 on Mirage and 13-10 on Ancient. Andrey "BELCHONOKK" Yasinskiy led all-Russian PARIVISION with 42 kills and a plus-11 K-D differential. Another Russian, Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin, compiled 45 kills and a plus-12 K-D differential for Team Falcons.

Aurora Gaming roared past The MongolZ 13-6 on Inferno, 13-9 on Mirage. Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalcin paced all-Turkish Aurora Gaming with 37 kills and a plus-10 K-D differential. Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren and Ayush "mzinho" Batbold each posted 31 kills for the all-Mongolian MongolZ.
