Patriots agree to deal with RB Antonio Gibson, release WR

Wexler / USA TODAY NETWORK Running back Antonio Gibson agreed to a three-year, $11.25 million deal with the New England Patriots, according to reports on Monday.
Gibson, a wide receiver at Memphis, had 172 catches for 1,283 yards and seven touchdowns and 642 carries for 2,643 yards and 22 touchdowns with the Washington Commanders.
Patriots running backs were first (Ezekiel Elliott) and fourth (Rhamondre Stevenson) on the team in receptions in 2023. Elliott had 51 receptions and two touchdowns.
Gibson is likely to pair with Stevenson in a new-look offense replacing multiple starters.
Wide receiver DeVante Parker, sixth on the team with 33 receptions in 2023, was informed he'll be released on Wednesday, ESPN and NFL network reported on Monday.
Parker, 31, has 402 receptions for 5,660 yards and 27 touchdowns since being drafted by the Miami Dolphins 14th overall in 2015.
