Penguins place veteran G Tristan Jarry on waivers

The Pittsburgh Penguins placed veteran goaltender Tristan Jarry on waivers Wednesday.
Jarry, 29, is 8-8-4 with a 3.31 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage in 22 games this season.
The two-time All-Star surrendered three goals on 17 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 home loss to the Seattle Kraken, including third-period goals 49 seconds apart by Jamie Oleksiak and Eeli Tolvanen that wiped out Pittsburgh's 2-1 lead.
Jarry signed a five-year, $26.9 million extension in July 2023, putting him under contract through 2027-28. The veteran netminder has a $5.375 million cap hit this season and a 12-team no-trade clause.
A second-round draft pick by Pittsburgh in 2013, the British Columbia native is 144-92-29 with 19 shutouts, a 2.74 GAA and .910 save percentage in 278 games with the Penguins.
The Penguins will move forward with a goaltender rotation of Alex Nedeljkovic and rookie Joel Blomqvist.
