Pirates acquire IF/OF Enmanuel Valdez from Red Sox

Mandatory Credit: Eric Canha-Imagn Images The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired infielder/outfielder Enmanuel Valdez from the Boston Red Sox on Sunday for minor league pitching prospect Joe Vogatsky.
Valdez, 25, batted .214 with six homers and 28 RBIs in 76 games last season with the Red Sox.
He also showed his versatility with Boston by making 65 appearances (56 starts) at second base, three appearances (one start) at third base and one appearance in left field.
Valdez is batting .235 with 12 homers and 47 RBIs in 125 career games with the Red Sox.
Vogatsky, 22, was selected by the Pirates in the 19th round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
The right-hander pitched at James Madison for four college seasons, posting a 9-9 record with a 5.24 ERA with 14 saves in 68 appearances (seven starts).
