Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Martin Perez is heading to the 15-day injured list, manager Derek Shelton said Tuesday.

Pittsburgh is awaiting more tests on the 33-year-old starter's left groin, injured in Sunday's start against the Atlanta Braves.

Perez departed the 8-1 loss to the Braves after three innings and is 1-3 with a 4.71 ERA through 11 starts.

He is 86-84 with a 4.45 ERA in 299 games (254 starts) with the Texas Rangers (2012-18, 2022-23), Minnesota Twins (2019), Boston Red Sox (2020-21) and Pirates.

Perez was an American League All-Star in 2022 and won the World Series with the Rangers in 2023.
