Pitt rides balanced scoring attack to win over Eastern Michigan

Corhen shot 7-of-11 from the field and added seven rebounds and two blocks.
Omari Witherspoon scored 15 points, Damarco Minor had 12 points and six assists and Roman Siupela added 11 points to lead Pitt.
The Panthers (3-0) shot 50% from the field overall (30-of-60). After attempting 30 shots from 3-point range in the previous win over Longwood, Pitt only attempted 18 against Eastern Michigan, making six of them.
Carlos Hart scored 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting, Mohammad Habhab had 15 points and seven rebounds and Addison Patterson added 13 points in defeat for Eastern Michigan (1-1), which shot 37.3% from the field overall (22-of-59) and 4-of-14 from 3-point range.
Pitt held a 45-32 lead at halftime, but saw Eastern Michigan cut the lead to single digits at 45-36 with 18:47 remaining in the game.
Pitt answered back with a 10-4 surge to take a 55-40 lead with 14:02 left.
Eastern Michigan cut its deficit back to 10 at 66-56 with 7:12 remaining after a pair of free throws by Habhab, but Pittsburgh scored the next five points to push its lead back to 15 at 71-56 with 5:05 left.
Eastern Michigan couldn't bring the deficit to within single digits the rest of the game.
Pitt got off to a strong start, taking a 16-6 lead with 13:12 to go in the first half and going up 27-10 with 10:12 left until halftime.
The Panthers led by as many as 18 points in the first half at 37-19 with 5:51 remaining before Eastern Michigan went on a 11-2 run to cut its deficit to 39-30 with 3:14 left.
The Panthers made 16 of 25 attempts (64%) on 2-point shots in the first half.
