Playoffs set for FISSURE Playground 2 event

Jordan Woodruff Team Liquid, HEROIC and MOUZ clinched the final three playoff spots of the FISSURE Playground 2 event with wins Monday in Belgrade, Serbia.
The three teams beat PARIVISION, Vici Gaming and Aurora Gaming, respectively, in matchups of the six teams with 2-2 records after the first four rounds of the group stage.
They join Team Falcons, Team Spirit, BetBoom Team, Tundra Esports and Team Yandex, which had already clinched playoff berths in the third or fourth round of group play.
The stage is now set for the double-elimination playoffs of the Dota 2 event, which begin Tuesday with the winning team taking home a $300,000 prize plus a $50,000 club reward. All of the playoff matches are best-of-three except for the grand final, which is best-of-five.
Team Liquid was the only team on Monday to sweep their opponent, finishing off a 2-0 win over PARIVISION. Liquid won 38-10 on green in 38 minutes and then finished with a 49-minute 46-30 on red. Michal "Nisha" Jankowski of Poland led the sweep with a 36-5-28 kill-death-assist ratio.
HEROIC won the deciding third game of the match vs. Vici Gaming 32-9 on green in 35 minutes after taking the opener 38-27 on red in 75 minutes and losing the second game 39-11 on green in 32 minutes. Yuma "Yuma" Langlet of Germany, Nicaragua and Belgium led the squad with a 22-9-28 K-D-A.
MOUZ similarly won the first and third games to come away with a 2-1 victory over Aurora Gaming. The clincher was a 39-minute 23-20 win on green after a 29-minute 23-12 victory on green was followed by a 31-13 Aurora Gaming win on red in 43 minutes. Dutch competitor Remco "Crystallis" Arets led MOUZ with a 21-6-17 K-D-A.
The playoffs begin with four upper bracket quarterfinals on Tuesday. No. 1 seed Team Falcons will face MOUZ, No. 2 seed Team Spirit will face HEROIC, No. 3 seed BetBoom Team will face Team Liquid and fourth-seeded Tundra Esports will face Team Yandex.
The winning teams will advance to the upper bracket semifinals while the losers will drop into elimination matches in the lower bracket.
